Déni Oumar Pitsaev

Deni Oumar Pitsaev was born in Chechnya in 1986 and grew up between Grozny, Saint Petersburg, and Almaty.

He studied at Sciences Po Paris, before turning to cinema. He then obtained a Bachelor's degree in directing from the INSAS (Institut national supérieur des arts du spectacle) in Brussels, followed by a Master's in audiovisual arts at the LUCA School of Arts, Saint-Lukas campus. Deni is an alumnus of the Locarno Filmmakers Academy and the IDFAcademy.

His first feature documentary, Imago, produced by TRIPTYQUE FILMS, is having its world premiere in competition at the Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival 2025.

He is currently developing the script for his first feature-length fiction film, Maspalomas.

He is based between Paris and Brussels.
